Founder: Jane Corben

Jane Corben is a Tantric Hatha yoga teacher and teacher trainer.

And while she has more than 40 years experience on the mat, Jane is so much more than a yoga teacher or teacher trainer. She’s a serial entrepreneur, property developer, proud mother to her 3 sons and delighted grandmother to 7 and wise sage to many more.

  • Jane grew up in the iconic Sydney Northern beaches, travelled to India before she was 20 with the father of her 3 sons. When the marriage dissolved, she made the bold decision to move herself, her boys and her work to Jindabyne, in the Snowy Mountains and began her entrepreneurial journey to support her family.

Yoga, while always in the background, came to the fore inspired by the synchronicity of her yoga teacher training and the disused Country Women’s Hall becoming available. Ten years, with the Yoga Shala thriving and having grown and sold two more businesses, Jane is also setting up at the coast on Barragoot Lake, near Bermagui.

Acknowledging how yoga supported her through raising her three sons on her own, decades of backing herself to build businesses, and with each experience learning and deepening her self-worth and self-reliance she is driven to share these profound teachings with others.

Jane delivers her wisdom from her unique experiences as a serial entrepreneur, sacred spacemaker, risk taker and lover of nature in the teachings, practice and classes with young and older seekers.

Yoga has become central to Jane’s continuing evolution as her awakened and enriched community grows and elevates, amidst the pulse of nature.

The Teachers

The yoga tradition speaks to habituation of movement patterns, decision making and thought patterns as being one of the biggest obstacles on our path towards a more blissful experience of life.

So we have a range of teachers on our team, and as the Snowy Mountains is a transient town, we are fortunate to enjoy the wisdom and experience of travelling teachers and seasonal teachers. The Shala was founded on offering a community.

Some teach in the Tantric Hatha lineage that Jane does. others from their own unique path. So.mix it up, mix up your classes, mix up your teachers. Every teacher has a different story to tell.
