Jane Corben

Jane Corben is a Tantric Hatha yoga teacher and teacher trainer.

And while she has more than 40 years experience on the mat, Jane is so much more than a yoga teacher or teacher trainer. She’s a serial entrepreneur, property developer, proud mother to her 3 sons and delighted grandmother to 6 and wise sage to many more.

Jane grew up in the iconic Sydney Northern beaches, travelled to India before she was 20 with the father of her 3 sons. When the marriage dissolved, she made the bold decision to move herself, her boys and her work to Jindabyne, in the Snowy Mountains and began her entrepreneurial journey to support her family.

Yoga, while always in the background, came to the fore inspired by the synchronicity of her yoga teacher training and the disused Country Women’s Hall becoming available. Ten years, with the Yoga Shala thriving and having grown and sold two more businesses, Jane is also setting up at the coast on Barragoot Lake, near Bermagui.

Acknowledging how yoga supported her through raising her three sons on her own, decades of backing herself to build businesses, and with each experience learning and deepening her self-worth and self-reliance she is driven to share these profound teachings with others.

Jane delivers her wisdom from her unique experiences as a serial entrepreneur, sacred spacemaker, risk taker and lover of nature in the teachings, practice and classes with young and older seekers.

Yoga has become central to Jane’s continuing evolution as her awakened and enriched community grows and elevates, amidst the pulse of nature.

Jane’s Teachers

A teenager in the 1970’s explosion of new freedoms, an unplanned landing in a Sri Lankan ashram in 1979, returning home & studying Indian history and philosophy at uni, forays into a local Satyananda community during the early years of motherhood and then powered into many years of artha, which is referenced in the ancient yogic texts, as gathering the resources and tools, required to fulfill our dharma, our souls purpose.

By 2010, the child rearing and artha cycles were complete, it was now time to dive deep into the other Purusharthas, the souls desires, dharma; fulfillment, kama; pleasure, leading to moksha, liberation or freedom.

Today Jane is deeply aligned with the Tantric Hatha Sri Vidya lineage. She has an insatiable quest for the practices and their universal wisdom as they continue to deliver. the power, the confidence and the compassion to live an auspicious life.

Her teachers have included Duncan Peak, Shiva Rea, Nicole Walsh, Tiffany Cruikshank. Octavio Salvador, Rod Stryker, Brad Hay, Karina Guthrie and Natalie Backman.

Jane is certified Level 2 with Yoga Australia and ERYT500 with Yoga Alliance, after having completed over 4,000 teaching hours and 2,000 training hours. And she is also listed as a senior instructor with The Practice Bali.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
