+ Who can join the 200 Hour training?

A 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training caters to two main groups - Yoga students who wish to teach and seekers who simply wish to deepen their knowledge of the tradition. Regardless of your aims, you must have three key qualities:

  1. a desire to apply yourself to the practices of the tradition and 100% commitment for the entirety of the course

  2. a general level of Yoga practice and the physical capability to participate in the basic postures

  3. a curiosity for Yoga and a great attitude

+ Will I be able to teach professionally on the completion of this course?

If you apply yourself 100% to the course, you will have everything you need to go out into the big, good world and begin your Yoga career! Becoming a great Yoga teacher takes time and dedication but this course gives you the fundamentals to get going on the right foot. The world needs more Yoga teachers, join us!

+ What if I don't want to teach Yoga?

Not everyone who joins a 200 Hour course wants to go on and teach. Perhaps you seek a better understanding of this whole body of knowledge and greater fluency in your practice. This is welcomed, we understand that there is much more to this system than teaching it and many choose to follow the philosophy without ever engaging professionally.

+ Where can I stay during the course?

Jindabyne is a compact community and we have an accommodation partnership with a friend's lodge super close to the studio. Rooms vary from $20 per night for a twin share to $40 per night for a private room. Do not be deterred by airbnb rates online! These are winter tourist rates. We are more than happy to assist you with sourcing a place to stay. Give Jane a call. Her number is at the bottom of the page :)

+ What about food?

There is a bunch of info about food on the Jindabyne page as well. There are a great selection of food outlets within walking distance of the studio. The accommodation lodge also has kitchen facilities. Jindabyne Yoga Shala has kitchen facilities. You are welcome to store your food in the kitchen there, or even cook if your accommodation, for some reason, doesn't provide for this.

+ Can I join the course if I'm pregnant?

This obviously depends on you: where you're at with the pregnancy, if it's your first pregnancy and if you feel comfortable. For example, if you're in your first term, it's your third pregnancy and you feel entirely comfortable being pregnant, then we would have you on light duties throughout the course. It doesn't need to interfere with your learning at all, we just pay mind to the physical and energy factors! Please let us know if this is you (congratulations!) and we can discuss in further detail.

+ Is this course Yoga Alliance certified?

Yes, it is. At the completion of the course, you are an internationally accredited RYT-200 Yoga Teacher with the global qualification group.

+ What kind of clothing do I need to bring?

You will be practicing every day and each day runs from 630am - 530pm so laundry will not be a priority. Bring enough changes to get you through the week. We also have a Closing Dinner, so bring something pretty to celebrate in!

+ Do I need to bring my laptop?

If you study better with a laptop, bring it.

+ Do I need to bring my own mat?

We provide all the equipment required for the course but if you have your own mat, bring it! Practice builds up Shakti on your mat and that's a beautiful thing.

+ What else do I need to do to prepare for the course?

Make sure you have any medications you may need for the month and that your life is in order so that you can drop out from life and enjoy the course. Bring a gorgeous notebook and your swimming/walking/running/bike riding gear. Jindabyne is a gorgeous place to explore so bring your gear for outdoor activities.

+ Do I need a visa to join this course from overseas?

It depends on the country you are coming from but as a general rule, you do not need a 'student visa' to complete this course while in Australia.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to get in touch with us.
